...celebrating every step!

What's Going On

We are currently in a series called The Story, a book about the most compelling story of all time: the story of a true God who loves His children, who established for them a way of salvation and provided a route to eternity.

·      The Story is the story of the Bible.
·      It is 31 chapters of Biblical text written in chronological order and covering the major characters and events from Genesis to Revelation.
·      It has short transitions that connect the reader to the continuing story of how God goes to great lengths to rescue lost and hurting people.
·      Since it is an abridged version, this is your opportunity to read the Bible all the way through and to see how it is ONE SEAMLESS STORY, the story of redemption, not 66 disjointed books that are too hard to understand.
·      Since it is chronological, it reads like a novel.

The Story is going to last us most of 2013, 31 weeks, and we have designed it so that everyone in the church can be studying The Story together, from preschoolers to the oldest adults. Not only will we be studying The Story on Sunday mornings, but there are also family activities and small group studies.
The Bible is going to come alive for you! You’re going to see it in a brand new light!

New Deacons - We have eight candidates who are in the last step of the process for becoming a deacon. That last step calls for the membership of Milestones to examine each candidate. Members do so by praying for the candidates. If you, the member, feel like one of the candidates is not biblically qualified  to be a deacon (see 1 Timothy 3), you should discuss your concerns with the candidate. The candidate will either agree to withdraw his/her name based upon the concerns, convince the member that the concerns are unfounded, or agree to disagree. In the latter case, the current elders will intervene and make a decision. Members affirm the selection of the deacons by their silence. Please pray for the deacon candidates Freddie Blanton, Jerry Boyd, Jimmy Hartsoe, Dennis Roberts, Leigh Roberts, Alex Turner, Emily Turner, and Doug Williams.

The Power Of One - What difference can one make?  It may not seem like much...
One dollar
One hug
One prayer
One smile
Yet when we come together as the Body of Christ at Milestones, God makes little into much. Be a part of blessing others from the debt of gratitude you have for all God has done for you by giving one dollar accompanied by a prayer for the recipient of this week's Power of One offering.

Milestones is On The Air: Tune in to ESPN Radio, 97.1 FM or 1400 AM every Sunday from 12 noon - 1 pm. to hear our service on the radio. You'll hear a couple of the songs we sang and the sermon from a previous week (a two-week delay usually). Spread the word. This is another good introduction to Milestones for your friends and a good way for you to catch up if you missed a Sunday.
